Gabriella
Subjects Taught: French, Italian
Background: Gabriella grew up in Switzerland, where she tutored students aged 10 to 18 throughout high school, clocking up over 80 hours’ experience. She then studied Italian and Portuguese at Edinburgh University. She teaches French and Italian to A Level; her areas of particular expertise are writing and conversation.
Fun Fact: A true Swiss, Gabriella cannot live without her homeland’s chocolate. She brings kilos of it back to London whenever she can.
Rebecca
Subjects Taught: English, Maths, Drama
Background: Rebecca read English at Cambridge University, graduating with a First Class degree in 2015. She started tutoring at the age of 16, and has now accumulated hundreds of hours of teaching experience. Rebecca teaches English and Drama to A Level, and Maths to GCSE. She specialises in Shakespeare, poetry and practical criticism.
Fun Fact: Rebecca has recently discovered the wonders of ballroom dancing, and secretly plays the piano accordion.
Andy
Subjects Taught: Maths, Physics, Spanish
Background: Andy studied Theoretical Physics at Imperial College, and then completed a Masters in Applied Mathematics at Cambridge University. He is now pursuing a PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics at Durham University. Andy teaches Maths, Physics and Spanish, and has been doing so over the last 6 years. He has clocked up over 1300 hours of tutoring experience to date.
Fun Fact: Andy learned how to crawl by following an ant.
Maud
Subjects Taught: English, Common Entrance, University Entrance
Background: Maud studied English at Cambridge University, graduating in 2010. She has clocked up over 2000 hours’ teaching to date. Maud teaches English to A Level and Entrance at a variety of levels: 5+, 8+, 11+, 13+, Sixth Form Entrance and right up to University Entrance level. She also teaches English as a Foreign Language both to adults and to early learners. Last academic year, she worked as a full-time GCSE English teacher at the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School for boys in Holland Park, focusing on intervention teaching with the students most in need of extra support for public exams.
Fun Fact: In her other life, Maud is also a professional opera singer.
Tife
Subjects Taught: Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics
Background: Tife studied at the University of Manchester, majoring in a Bachelors of Science in Economics. In her second and third years she held lessons/workshops for first year student in Econometrics. After graduating she interned at an investment banking firm for 6 months and went on to Imperial College London to study for a Masters of Science in Economics and Strategy for Business. She is a highly dedicated tutor, with over 350 hours of teaching experience.
Fun Fact: Tife also currently works at a one of the leading management consulting firms globally; however, she cannot swim and doesn’t like chocolates.
Gareth
Subjects Taught: Music
Background: Gareth read Music and was a choral scholar at Jesus College, Cambridge. Upon graduating in 2013, he spent a year singing with Hereford Cathedral Choir and teaching at the Cathedral School. Since moving to London in 2014, he has pursued a varied freelance singing career and has regularly performed with some of London’s top consort groups and church choirs. From September 2015, Gareth will take part in the National Youth Choir’s inaugural Fellowship programme. Alongside his singing work, he teaches Music Theory at Harrow School. Previous work for Titanium Tutors includes both University and A Level tuition.
Fun Fact: As his name suggests, Gareth is a passionate Welsh rugby fan and has the distinction of being born on 29 February!
