Joe owns and runs the company. A PGCE qualified Classics graduate, he tutors Latin and Ancient Greek. Joe has read Harry Potter in Latin from cover to cover. He'd love to be a Gryffindor, but is probably a Hufflepuff as he works too hard.
Job description
Joe trains our assessors and staff, and oversees their work. He constantly tweaks what we do, to ensure that the quality of the tutor and client experience is always outstanding.
Full biog
Joe graduated from King’s College, Cambridge in 2009 with a degree in Classics, and then trained as a teacher at Queens’ College, Cambridge, graduating with a PGCE in 2010.
He founded Titanium Tutors in 2011. Whilst doing so, Joe taught Latin on a part-time basis in three schools — Parkside Federation, Impington Village College and South Lee School (where he started up the Latin department from scratch). He has also provided Latin and Ancient Greek supervisions to numerous Cambridge University undergraduates.
Joe now focuses full-time on TT and his private tutoring work. He considers grammar to be crucially important in teaching Classical languages, as long as it is made fun and students are given the tools to apply their grammatical knowledge to its best effect in the context of a translation.
